Nataliia Filimonova

Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor, honored professor of the National Academy of Sciences, Head of Department of Microbiology, Virology, and Immunology of the National University of Pharmacy.

In 2003, she defended her doctoral thesis on the topic “Microbiological substantiation of the rational combined use of glucocorticoids and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs with antibiotics” (scientific consultant – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Yu.L. Volyanskyi). She is the author of more than 210 scientific works, including 2 monographs, 4 textbooks, 7 training manuals, 7 methodical recommendations, and 13 patents of Ukraine.

Field of scientific interests: medical microbiology, virology, antibiotic resistance, a study of microbial contamination of various dosage forms, and pharmaceutical preparations.

Research activities: She is the author of more than 250 scientific works, including 2 monographs, 5 textbooks, 7 training manuals, 7 methodological recommendations, and 14 patents of Ukraine.

Social activities. Head of the “Microbiology” Committee of the expert examination of test materials of the “Step-1” licensing exam for the “Pharmacy” specialty at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Member of the Society of Microbiologists of Ukraine. Member of the specialized scientific council D 64.618.01 State University “Institute of Microbiology and Immunology named after I.I. Mechnikov National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine”. Member of the Scientific Council of the National Academy of Sciences, member of the United Council of Faculties of the National Academy of Sciences, member of the Central Methodical Council of the National Academy of Sciences, member of the methodological profile commission for biomedical disciplines of the National Academy of Sciences, member of the Approbation Council of the National Academy of Sciences, specialty 14.03.05 – “Pharmacology”. Member of the editorial boards of the journals “Annals of the Mechnikovsky Institute”, “Ukrainian Biopharmaceutical Journal” and “Herald of Pharmacy”.

She was awarded an honorary diploma from the Association of Employers’ Organizations of the Medical and Microbiological Industry, and a diploma from the All-Ukrainian publishing project “Scientific and Educational Potential of Ukraine”

Olgа Heiderich

Ph.D. of Medical Sciences, associate professor, associate professor of the institution of higher education of the department of Microbiology, Virology, and Immunology of the National University of Pharmacy, head of the department. In 2002, she defended her Ph.D. thesis on “Pyocyanin as an antibacterial and immunogenic substrate of Pseudomonas aeruginosa”.

Field of scientific interests. Screening of natural and synthetic compounds to determine antimicrobial potential, microbiological purity of raw materials, and finished dosage forms

Research activities. She is the author of 98 scientific works, including 1 monograph, 3 textbooks, 10 training manuals, 5 methodological recommendations, and 2 patents of Ukraine.

Social activities. Member of the Society of Microbiologists of Ukraine named after S.M. Vinohradskyi; delegate to the conference of the labor team of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Applied Pharmacy, member of the Academic Council of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Applied Pharmacy.

Nataliia Dubinina

Ph.D. of Medical Sciences, associate professor of the institution of higher education of the department of Microbiology, Virology, and Immunology of the National University of Pharmacy, methodologist of the department. In 2004, she defended her Ph.D. thesis on the topic “Antimicrobial properties of glucogenic amino acids and their synergism with antibiotics

Field of scientific interests: screening of compounds of natural and synthetic origin and study of antimicrobial potential, medical microbiology, virology, antibiotic resistance.

Research activities. She is the author of more than 100 scientific works, including 4 monographs, 2 textbooks, 12 training manuals, and 1 patent in Ukraine.

Social activities. She is responsible for career guidance work at the department. Member of the Society of Microbiologists of Ukraine named after S.M. Vinohradskyi.

Iryna Tishchenko

Ph.D. of Biological Sciences, associate professor of the institution of higher education of the department of Microbiology, Virology, and Immunology of the National University of Pharmacy. In 1991, she defended her PhD thesis on the topic “Search and pharmacological study of biologically active substances that exhibit anabolic activity”. 

Field of scientific interests: medical microbiology, virology, immunology, pathophysiology. Special attention is paid to the study of the following scientific areas: the role of human microbiota in the pathogenesis of diseases, the pathogenesis of metabolic syndrome and its connection with the microbiocenosis, the pathophysiology of the blood system, humoral factors of immunity, the pathogenesis of inflammation, the mechanisms of tissue growth disorders, especially oncogenesis; evolution and genetics of microorganisms, mechanisms of formation of antibiotic resistance, issues of anti-infectious and anti-tumor immunity.

Research activities: She is the author of 210 scientific works, including 1 monograph, 28 educational and methodological works, including 11 textbooks (8 with the seal of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine), 6 training manuals, 11 methodological recommendations and 3 patents.

Social activities. At the department, she performs the duties of the head of practice for students of higher education in the specialty 224 Technologies of Medical Diagnostics and Treatment, is responsible for the training of masters in the Laboratory diagnostics educational program. She heads organizational and educational work at the department, is a delegate of the conference of the labor team of the faculty of medical and pharmaceutical technologies, a member of the Society of Microbiologists of Ukraine named after S.M. Vinohradskyi.

Olga Shapovalova

Ph.D. of Biological Sciences, senior researcher, associate professor of the institution of higher education of the department of Microbiology, Virology, and Immunology of the National University of Pharmacy. In 1995, she defended her Ph.D. thesis on the topic “Immunological evaluation of prophylactic preparations against bovine leucosis”.

Field of scientific interests: medical and veterinary microbiology, virology, immunology.

Research activities: She is the author of more than 170 scientific works, including 1 monograph, 3 training manuals, 4 methodological recommendations, and 10 patents of Ukraine.

Social activities. At the department, he performs the duties of the person responsible for scientific work, the work of the Council of Young Scientists (CYS), Quality Management System.  Member of the Society of Microbiologists of Ukraine named after S.M. Vinohradskyi. Freelance expert of the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine in the field of the accreditation of medical laboratories for compliance with the requirements of the standard DSTU EN ISO 15189.

Olena  Shakun

Ph.D. of Medical Sciences, associate professor of the institution of higher education, department of Microbiology, Virology, and Immunology of the National University of Pharmacy. In 2008, she defended her candidate’s thesis on the topic “Microbiological substantiation of the prospects of creating complex medicinal products based on microbicidal prodrugs”.

Field of scientific interests: antibiotic resistance of microorganisms, development and creation of antimicrobial and immunobiological drugs, microbiological quality control of cosmetics, zoonotic and droplet infections.

Research activities. He is the author of 83 scientific works, including 51 theses, 3 patents, 14 articles (including 1 Scopus), 2 textbooks, 1 methodological recommendation, 12 educational and methodological manuals.

Social activities. Member of the Society of Microbiologists of Ukraine named after S.M. Vinohradskyi, which is a full member of the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) since 2009. Member of the admissions committee of the National Institute of Medical Sciences of the Medical and Biological Profile for the admission of students in the English language of study.

Olena Koshova

Ph.D. of Pharmaceutical Sciences, senior researcher, associate professor of the institution of higher education, department of Microbiology, Virology, and Immunology of the National University of Pharmacy. In 2011, she defended her candidate’s thesis on the topic “Experimental substantiation of the clinical application of the antidiabetic drug “Fitoglunor”.

Field of scientific interests: research of the pharmacological activity of biologically active substances of plant and synthetic origin, determination of possible mechanisms of their action, preclinical toxicological research of medicines and active biological substances, immunology, allergology, diabetology, and gerontology.

Research activities. She is the author and co-author of more than 160 scientific works (58 articles, 88 abstracts, 12 utility model patents, 2 information sheets, and 1 methodical recommendation).

Social activities. Member of the Association of Pharmacologists of Ukraine and the Society of Microbiologists of Ukraine named after S.M. Vinohradskyi.
