October 24, 2019 Associate Professor, Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology, National University of Pharmacy, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences Morozenko conducted an interesting excursion to the Higher Education applicants of the National University of Pharmacy in the specialty 224 Technologies of medical diagnostics and treatment to the department of laboratory diagnostics and immunology and laboratory of connective tissue morphology of the State Institution of Spine and Joint Pathology. prof. E. Sitenko of NAMS of Ukraine ».
The excursion from the interesting lecture of the head of the department of laboratory diagnostics and immunology, candidate of biological sciences, senior researcher F.S. Leontyeva is a well-known Ukrainian scientist-practitioner in the field of clinical laboratory diagnostics and clinical biochemistry. Students were provided with up-to-date information on the current state of laboratory medicine in Ukraine and abroad, the methods of laboratory research used in practical medicine, as well as the legal aspects of laboratory control of hospital infections in medical institutions, the prevention and diagnosis of infectious hepatitis and helminthiasis.

Subsequently, the laboratory doctors of the department demonstrated the basic methods of laboratory testing of biological material – blood, urine, exudates and synovial fluid, demonstrated the work of a modern automatic hematology analyzer, as well as the determination of blood groups in patients.

The most interesting part of the excursion to the institute was visiting another subdivision – the Laboratory of connective tissue morphology. In this laboratory, the students of the laboratory were shown the work of a unique light microscope for the study of histological preparations. Finally, an electron microscopy laboratory was visited, where students were introduced to the principles of the electron microscope.
